RUSTIC WEDDING INSPIRATIONS

The best part about a rustic wedding is that almost all decor and food ideas can be created by yourself. Use your imagination to conjure up a unique experience for your guests and although organising a wedding can be stressful you might have loads of fun during preparations. Remember: sky is the limit! This rule concerns even the venue. If you prefer more relaxed atmosphere, you can decide on organising your wedding in the woods or in the grounds of a stately house. If you want it to feel intimate and cosy, think of having your wedding in your back garden. Both can still look as romantic and elegant as a more traditional venue would be.

If that is too much for you or you don’t feel like challenging the weather, bring the outdoors in and use natural and woodland wedding decorations. A rustic wedding is a praise of nature. Decorate your aisle with burlap and wild flowers. Point the way to your reception with a wooden sign. Use pine cones to hold your guests' table numbers. You may also display the menu options on tree trunks or wooden barrels.

Good lighting is an incredibly important element. Let pendant banners and icicle lights illuminate the wedding. Candles and twinkling lights are all you need to create a rustic ambience.

For decorations, use hessian to add a rustic vibe to your wedding. It can be done either in form of long lengths of hessian hanging from chair backs or by draping it over the ceiling. This fabric may serve you well in many ways, i.e. use hessian favour bags and give your guests something sweet like candies or sugar coated almonds inside. You may also use paper boxes decorated with ribbons and flowers for this purpose. Just keep it simple and charming.

You can use hessian ribbon roll as well to decorate table napkins.

Why not get creative and wrap your cake cutting set in twine or wrap all the cutlery in hessian matched with colourful ribbons and herbs, i.e. rosemary leaves?

Also jars and bottles wrapped in twine and burlap look charming. You can add a pop o colour to it by use of hessian sting and ribbon roll and by decorating it with wild flowers, herbs or blades of grass.
To make it look more romantic use lace ribbons and pearls. Jars and small vintage buckets may also be used as flower pots. Wild flowers are so beautiful that they do not need much to impress.

However any rustic floral decoration would look nice accompanied by hessian ribbon and candles can be topped on wooden trunks or boxes on the table for centrepieces.

It is important for the table numbers to be easily visible, yet not to divert attention from the rest of the decorations.

Make them wooden or matched in tone with a table cloth.

Also invitations should be minimalistic in form and natural in tone.

There is no room for excess if you want it rustic.

While setting a guest book, choose one wrapped in burlap and place it on a wooden barrel.

It will look more interesting than a regular one laying on a table.

As you can see, most of the decorations in rustic style are DIY and often made from recycled materials.
