There are truly countless ideas that you can create and make to use as Christmas home decorations, such as homemade tree ornaments, candle wraps, and many more.

Take a look at some fantastic Christmas decorations using ribbons and embellishments that are vibrant, fun and festive.

  • Christmas garland using ribbons

Create a well-formed Christmas garland for your windows using wire-edge ribbons. You can add regularly spaced pushpins or wire nails at the top of your window frame.

Start with draping a Gold Foil Ribbon across the façade; wrap them around the pins to secure and allow the ribbon to drape down between each pin about half the length of the hanging tails. Play with the different colours of ribbon.

  • Sparkling ribbon cups

Create a cup like structure or use small glass jars that are wrapped in a ribbon in a different yet attractive way.

Treat the simple glass jars/votives the royal way by covering them in overlapping ribbons using a heat-resistant adhesive or place battery operated candle and add tape like Chevron Silver Foil Adhesive Washi Tape to it. Embellish the jars with sequins which will add sparkle to the display.

  • Colourful ribbon table top trees

Use ribbon scraps to create lively table top trees.

The main item you will need is a plastic foam cone. First, wrap the entire cone from the bottom to the top with a ribbon colour of your choice. Ribbon like green double sided satin ribbon would work well here as it has a solid colour. When you get near the top of the cone, fold the ribbon over the point and use pin or two to hold it into place.

As an extension to this idea, you can layer the other pieces of ribbon such as pretty thin sheer ribbon like 3mm or 6mm Organza ribbon around the covered cone and secure the ribbon ends with the pins. Apply embellishments such as brightly coloured sparkle encrusted jewels to it for the baubles. Our sparkle encrusted jewel embellishments are 50 per pack and have a self-adhesive backing, making it easy to apply.

  • Ribbon packaging

Pair bright or pastel papers with vibrant ribbons in diverse designs and materials; use ribbons to tie simple bows around the gift packages or create a sleek band around your gifts.

  • Try ribbon roses

Roses have always been the number one choice for any occasion. Craft ribbon roses that’ll fill oversize bowls. These DIYs roses can be made quickly, and you can use ribbons or embellishments to make them appear more elegant.

  • Ribbon Lampshade

Turn a basic lampshade into a holiday hit with bright grosgrain ribbon strips glued around the shade. To make it more dramatic, glue a sequin trim, so it hangs like a row of stuff from the edge of the lampshade.

  • Christmas pictures

Take your favourite photos from the past Christmases and team it up with ribbons for an easy and sentimental holiday decoration.

Create photo frames by layering striped and solid cardstock paper over an all-red ribbon using Multi Glitter Circles Adhesive Washi Tape. Top it off with a photo taped in place. Washi tape is perfect for Christmas crafting projects like this as the washi tape is repositionable so you can move and adjust the washi tape until you are happy with your design.

  • Decorate a Chandelier

Use blue ribbons or gold ribbons and dyed green pine cones as hanging feature. This unique idea will make your home Christmas ready.

Christmas is a time to celebrate but more importantly spend time with your loved ones. Use any of the above ideas and integrate it with your creativity for an incredible décor arrangement this year.
